The outputs from the project can be found below. These include presentations from the winter conference, grower story and factsheets which provide background information, an insight into what is currently happening within the work packages of the project and how this will benefit the potato industry.

Trial Results from Barnyards
The results from the 2022 demonstration trial held at Barnyards by kind permission of Neill Smith were presented by Phillip Burgess (scottishpotatoes.org) and Eric Anderson (Scottish Agronomy).

Economic Value of the potato industry and cost of PCN
Presentation by Steven Thomson from SRUC with information about the economics of the potato industry and PCN.

This presentation from the conference shows the work being done at the James Hutton Institute to help identify and include PCN resistance in potato breeding.

Summary of Tolerance to PCN Review
John Jones, Vivian Blok and Glenn Bryan from the James Hutton Institute have produced a review about tolerance to PCN. The review is summarised here and highlights how tolerance to PCN differs from resistance (which are often confused), current understanding and ongoing research regarding this important trait.

Grower Story - Neill Smith
This grower story is about Neill Smith, a potato grower based in Angus. Neill uses an integrated pest management approach for PCN which includes a combination of PCN soil sampling, applying nematicides, growing resistant varieties and an oilseed radish cover crop, and controlling groundkeepers.
PCN Working Group Final Report
