Ian is a science group leader at the James Hutton Institute and Director the Scotland’s Plant Health Centre (PHC). His science focus is on pests and pathogens of potato, mainly blackleg disease, but he is also leading the PCN project as part of his role within the PHC. He has close ties to potato industry stakeholders and is keen to use his science to make a positive difference for them.
